VIDEOGRAPHY vs. PHOTOGRAPHY
In MOTION
- following the movements of individuals and subjects
NO MOVEMENTS, still images only!
- many times the best expression falls between two shots
and the moment ... well, getting lost forever.
SOUND
- ALWAYS !
NO SOUND !
- Sound, background music can be added to slide-shows
burned on CDs/DVDs and played back on computers or
DVD players BUT the images... well, will stay STILL.
- Captured during recording.
- Background music and other sound effects can be added.
FREEZE a moving image
- Motion in Video are achieved by recording STILL images,
60 images in every second for our Canadian (NTSC)
system. When played back with the same speed, the
human eye is unable to follow the rapid changes of the
images and interprets ("sees") it MOVING. We can speed
it up or slow them down for special effects, if desired.
STILL imges ONLY!
- Even the fastest digital camera cannot produce
enough images per second in sequence to achieve
smooth movement. They are not designed for it.
PRINTING ENLARGEMENTS.
- Not Possible. Digital images recorded by video cameras
are not designed for printing enlargements like 4"x6"
prints and larger.
Images captured by video cameras are designed to be
played back on TV sets.
- PHOTOGRAPHY IS the clear winner here!
YES !
Beautiful color or B&W enlargements can be printed
from films or digital images.
